    Firearm caliber

Is it unlawful to have a primary handgun which can be changed to shoot different caliber? Same goes with long guns, not the self loading .223.

I know most firearms can be modified.

This question been in my head for a while.

yah what he said.. for example .357 mag you can shoot .38 special as well. Also like sig .40 caliber and other manufactures you can change the barrel to shoot .357 mag .. then thers the ar's all you ahve to do is change the upper and you can shoot, .22, .40, .9mm, 6.8 spc, .50 beowolf etc for example.. some example i could think of off my head that arent illegal to do. Its probably illegal to do the .50 bmg since you have to register the gun as a .50 real soon.

on my sig 229, it's a .40 cal. for around $175, you can buy a barrel for a .357 SIG round and do a swap in under a minute. (if you were jet li from LETHAL WEAPONS 3, under 5 seconds... )

in fact, the magazine is stamped ".40/.357" on the side...

Unless you can switch it into a .50BMG, then you're OK to go.

So far .50BMG is the only 'caliber' or 'chambering' that's banned in CA...
