you know that confuses me. Why did McCain scold Bill Cunningham, who kept on saying obama's full name? I got really mad at McCain because he's no different than the press who absolutely love obama. You know, this whole "he wants to ban automatics" thing is silly. What is even more silly is the use of his full name controversy.

First issue: Obama said he wants to ban all semi-automatic firearms. Ok. So what? Do you really think he can do that? Do you really think that McCain wouldn't sign another AWB if HE was elected? Remember, the Dems are the majority right now and would resurrect the AWB if they thought it was likely to get signed. McCain has flip-flopped his way through his whole career on this issue. Would he sign one? Maybe yes, maybe no but the fact is, the possibility is there if the Dems send one to him.

Is it likely that they will do this? No. The Dems got burned last time and they are hearing the voices of the people saying that the right to own firearms in an individual right not subject to the will of the gov to restrict or ban. Heller will hopefully sort this out and make it clear.

So, Obama's personal opinion that semi-automatic firearms are evil is nothing to get excited about. He has little to no chance of being able to impose his views upon the US. Neither does McCain.

Second issue: People have been shown to be idiots when it comes to the "he's a muslim" thing. However, some idiots out there just can't seem to get the message and give it a rest.

Obama is NOT a muslim. He was given his name by his parents and his name does not reflect his choices in life. However, by linking his middle name to that of Saddam Hussein the idiots are trying to smear him through fear tactics. (ie: Don't vote for him because he's a Hussein and that means he's either a terrorist or a muslim.)

It's BS. If you don't like the guy just don't vote for him. Spreading lies about him shows only that those who that do so are idiots who are trying to push THEIR agenda at you under cover of smoke and mirrors. Don't fall for it, just don't vote for him if you don't like him. You don't have to hate him to not vote for him.

This is stupid. Anyone who fails to look at the facts behind the candidates before making a choice on who to vote for DESERVES the fallout that will result. NPR or any media outlet that falls for spreading this BS loses total credibility on ALL issues in ALL areas.

It's easy to spot the fear mongerers. Look at the message they're spreading. IF it's full of spite, hate, or lies, you know that you aren't getting the whole story. What you're getting is bias and that doesn't speak very highly of either them or their candidate.

Yeah, and there's apparently a few things right with society that cause many young people to respect authority, stay in school, and become adults who can contribute to society.

I'd see cause and effect by gang membership v. upbringing and education. Government is definitely not the solution.
