    Question regarding magazines

I have older 20 round AR-15 mags (some Colt some other brands).

If I understand correctly, I can swap every part with a new one and assemble a brand new 20 round PMag (using a rebuild kit).

    Now the legal question.

Can I now take the disassembled older mags and build 10 round mags from them? I think I know the answer but need confirmation.

    Sure.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I wouldn't bother taking old hicaps to make 10 rounders out of them, unless you had no choice. Much better to get a newly manufactured mag to make a 10 rounder, while keeping your original hicaps intact. That's what I would do, anyway.
