    Glock 19 Gen 4

Coming to Calif for 2 weeks for a school. Would like to bring my Glock gen 4. Am I legally able to transport it into the state? I know my carrie permit from my state is no good there, but I would carrie it according to state law. Any advice? Thanks!

As long as you transport it in accordance with CA law, you should be fine. If you're bringing any magazines that hold more than 10 rounds, you'll need to either disassemble them or block them to 10 rounds at or before the state line. Also, be sure you're in compliance with state law and school rules about where and how you're able to store the gun.

It's fine, just don't bring in assembled large cap mags (>10 rds) or threaded barrels. Otherwise read the Wiki on transport and possession.

To be extra clear, threaded rifle barrels are fine. It's only threaded pistol barrels that are restricted.

Since the OP specifically inquired regarding a G19 Gen4, I thought mentioning rifles would add unnecessary complexity, hence the narrow reply.

As long as you have 10 round magazines and transport it unloaded in a locked case you can keep it underneath the front seat of your car and legally transport it.

Look into an Allen locking handgun case:
