    ak-47

I have read a lot about how ak-47 type guns are now illegal in Ca and they have made changes to the new ones, but I haven't seen anything saying if you have a pre-2000 model it os legal to convert it to be Ca legal. Does anyone know first hand if you can make one Ca legal?

Click on the flow chart at the top of the page. If the rifle is listed by,name, its a no-go.

Thats step one. If the name is listed and it wasnt registered at the time, you, or the person who happens to own one, is boned.

If not named, someone might possibly need to configure the gun to meet current law. Most commonly involves 'locking' the mag http://www.parallaxtactical.com/stor...-lock-198.html (can you belive these little metal bits are 35 bucks?) or removing the offending features (look up SB249, use the flowchart). On an AK, that would most likely be the pistol grip.

        Check the Calguns wiki.
