Inspired by the fight against SB249, I want to help.

A little history, Born and Lived in So.Cal. for the majority of my life. Spent a year or so in Arizona in the early nineties, moved back just in time for the stupid 91, 94, 2k gun bans, laws, corrupt and ineffective guvinators, power outages, price spikes and everything else that happened back then. Really soured on the situation here in California and figured this state was a lost cause, was looking forward to making a exit plan one day(Arizona spoiled me).

Life happens, two kids, a wife, secure job....I don't see myself leaving anytime soon(if ever).

Watching the support and activism on this site because of SB249 has shown me there are a lot of like minded people, and we all have a place here on CG.net to get together and work together to achieve change, I feel inspired.

Driving into L.A. this morning I heard a anti SB249 commercial on KFI AM 640, I didn't catch who it was, and I want to give!

I also am going to donate to CGF but have a few questions.

Knowing that if you give over a certain amount, you must reveal your identity, what is the maximum that can be given to pro gun .orgs without triggering these types of requirements? how often can you give without giving up personal info?

I've seen in the past how donor list must be publicly accessible and am not a fan of that, although I do understand the need to know.

    Thoughts? Ideas?

You can also support 2A eduction by helping fund our PTV/PBS documentary "Bullet Button" www.DeadPatriotFilms.com

Large donations can be ran through our PBS presenting station SOPTV for 501(c)(3) tax benefits.

Only through education can we stop bad law making like SB249 from every being considered.

      I will!

Buuuut, at what level, what amount can I give and not have to give personal info?

More than anything, that's what I'm mostly concerned about.

Also keep in mind for IRS tax deduction purposes, you will want to keep your receipts for contributions to c(3) or c(4) organizations (which CGF falls under).

I thought that the revealing identity thing was for election donations. Not sure, IANAL. Maybe use a money order from 7 Eleven or something.

OK, I'm not trying to be dense.

I'm not worried about tax deductions.

I want to give but do not want to be I.D.'ed in the process(not paranoid, just the way I am), Even though .orgs and the such say they will keep things confidential.

CGF gives the address to mail a check, no mention of say a money order from "Cannon-Arms"

What's the max that I could give and them not need to have Identifiable info from me. Is there a set standard for giving money to PACs and groups that define these amounts and reporting rules.

I am contacting CGF about this as well, to get it from the horses mouth.

And lastly, did anyone hear the ad on KFI, or know who would have done it? I've searched KFI's website for info on advertisers with no luck as of yet, gonna email them shortly about it if no one here knows.

Thanks everybody so far for your input.
