    Interfamilial Transfer Question

    Hello,

My father died about 10 years ago, and I just took possession of his handgun. It was registered to him, and as far as I know, there was not a registration transfer made at the time of his death. I am filling out the form to make the transfer into my name as I plan to use this for CCW. Is the 10 year gap in correct registration going to create any problems for my family?

    Thanks for your opinions!

Probably not. The state seems to care more that it gets filed than it's late.

There is no penalty for submitting the form after the 30 day time period.

After the extended period I am not sure if OpLaw is the right form. You might be better served to file a VolReg form.
