SB 249 & 22LR

From What i understand if SB 249 passes, It will be illegal to posses an ar-15 with a BB. And if this is the case, then the options are either surrender your firearm, store it at another state or keep and and never use unitil the law changes. Now my question is what if it is converted to a 22lr by replacing the bolt carrier? will this still be considered Illegal?

Fortunately, with the current wording and Yee's on air admissions to having to back down and scale back his bill under pressure, SB249 won't directly ban the BB even on centerfire.

There is ambiguous conversion kit language we still need to stop though, so don't pretend the bill is now all roses.
