Google discriminates against Guns & ammo sales now!

I did an ammo search on google a few days ago and was wondering why nothing popped up, but quickly got distracted by a new topic. Now that I know what happened, i am very disappointed in google.

I was a very early google fan one of the early people to realize the usefulness of google as being my homepage. I actively spread the word to get other people to use google. I watched them grow with many useful free tools like maps and eventually switched to gmail. I was a bit slower to switch to gmail, but none the less. Shopping has become another favorite useful tool. Now they pull this which greatly offends me.

I'm willing to dump google and my gmail account, but first i'm going to try to raise awareness and see if this can be reversed. Public outcry sometimes works if the ears are wise.

Google's new policy for "shopping" application...

The following products are not allowed on Google Shopping:
    Vehicles
    Guns, ammunition and knives
    Tobacco and cigarettes
    Traffic devices (Learn more)
Products related to casino and gambling
    Here's an article on it...

From what I read Google shopping will be its own site now, much like Amazon.com is.

The OP is wrong -- Google is obeying the law, as we all must do.

Yahoo, Bing / Microsoft, Google -- none of these advertising services are allowed to advertise a wide variety of "prohibited" categories, including firearms / ammo.

Google shopping is transitioning to a pay service, and therefore it's bound by the same laws as Google ad words, which is prohibited from accepted lots of types of advertising.

Here's the Yahoo advertising policy -- they won't accept ads for firearms, either:

and here's the policy for Microsoft / Bing, same thing:
