I'm saying they are there, they are writing and voting on legislation, and we have to work with them.

The current legislation goes a lot further than its authors intended. There is reason to believe it could be steamrollered through the Legislature no matter what the grass roots gun rights people do. But even if it is passed it could be rendered relatively harmless with a few changes in the language.

If we give them enough reasons not to work with us, they won't.

And before you (the collective "you") start ranting that they are all communists or Marxists or whatever and they refuse to listen to reason, etc, etc, sit down with a professional lobbyist and ask him how he gets things done.

I would love to be a fly on the wall at meeting with any of the major gun grabbers (all/any of them) and Tom Peterson or Ed Worley.... What are those conversations like I wonder....

Well look on the bright side, large cap mags can lawfully be used with semiauto centerfire rifles with bullet buttons and prohibited features. Sweet!

I bet they are a lot more civil and reasonable than most people would expect.

A semiautomatic rifle centerfire rifle with a bullet button device does not have a fixed magazine, so if you slap a large cap mag in there it is not an AW under 12276.1(a)(2) or whatever the new number is!

Under this interpretation, why the need for the bullet button?

A semiautomatic centerfire rifle with a standard mag release and prohibited features is....[complete the sentence].

If the BB is not making the rifle a fixed mag anymore???

Doesn't that moot the BB feature?

The BB does not make the rifle a fixed mag rifle. If the rifle has a standard push botton magazine release, though, what does the rifle have?

I think the question is, if a BB no longer makes the rifle a fixed magazine type rifle, wouldn't it then be considered a standard mag release? Using a tool to release the mag MAKES the rifle a fixed mag rifle.

The BB DOES (today) make it a fixed mag rifle. That's why we can only put a 10 rnd. Mag in it.

It wouldn't be a standard push button magazine release because it is not a standard push button magazine release. Although some fixed mag rifles require the use of the tool to remove the mag, the use of a tool is not what makes the rifle a fixed mag rifle.
