Question if a Leo owned this gun ( SIG SAUER Navy Spec P226 MK25 ) in California, could he do a PPT to me? Would I then legally own the gun in California? The mag is a 15. And the gun is not on the roster.

Yes, you can buy the gun legally. The officer will have to break down the magazine into parts before givin g it to you. On pick up day you'll need to bring either the original mag after permanently restricting it to 10 rds, or another 10 rd. mag to do the safety demonstration. -
Life is like having a map with precise directions and exact stops, you find out that your directions and stops change as you progress further down your original map.Comment

Modify a block of wood or piece of plastic and epoxy the magazine shut.
If I were in your shoes I would just purchase a 10 round magazine. Leave the 15 round magazine as parts for repair or for out of state use.Life is like having a map with precise directions and exact stops, you find out that your directions and stops change as you progress further down your original map.Comment

You got the info you need. But do it quick. They are trying to pass a law preventing LEO from PPT'ing off-roster guns. http://www.calguns.net/calgunforum/s...d.php?t=540460There is no justification for the public servant police to be more heavily armed than the law-abiding public they serve...Unless...the government's intention is to be more powerful than the people.Comment

You'd have to call one of the SSE FFLs. I don't know what conversion kits are available the Sig 226 is a pretty popular gun so a kit isn't out of the question.Comment
