Is that $60 ($80) per gun per year? Probably, it's canada.
Gun control is a 1" group at 500 yds!

I like one of the comments about how in "Cali you can have 10+ rounds if either A) you bought it before 2000 or b) you bought it from a store unassembled." Someone is asking for trouble.

It's the gun equivalent of a drivers license. One fee per person, renewed every 5 years. Not a big deal.

But... with no functional registry... how do they know who owes the fee?

Long gun registry is gone. Gun owners still need to have a license to buy, etc.

This has been around a long time...used to be called an FAC ("Firearms acquisition certificate").

              Process:

              1) pass a firearms safety course
              2) fill out application for license
              3) gov't does background check on you
              4) you get license
              5) buy as many guns as you want, from any dealer or private citizen in the country, even mail order...
              6) renew every five years ( safety course is only done once. )

Think of it as a combination 5-year-open-DROS + C&R FFL.

              : shrug :

Hell, that ain't so bad, really... especially when compared to multiple 10-day waiting periods!

Probably best that there isn't something similar here. Can you imagine how many calgunners would go broke if they were able to buy guns online from Buds and have them shipped directly to their home?
