Sounds like this shop is just full of excuses. They seem to be extra cautious, which is their right. DOJ going after SSE's would be news to me. Might be a question to pose to EBR.

Please post this store owner's name so we know who to avoid.

Why give this guy a penny? Find somebody who has a clue instead.

Why would you want a DE in .50AE? I'd rather have 10 rounds of 44mag vs 6 rounds of .50ae in my magazine.

Good for you. I'm sure you'll like it.

As I mentioned in the long post, the last FFL in the SSE chain has to want to play ball. There is no problem in him refusing to do the transfer - that's his right. My local FFL-s won't do it either, so I have to drive. However, outright lying about the reasons is less than acceptable; legal, but less than acceptable. Saying "I don't want to do it" - good. Saying "It's illegal and DOJ will come after you if you do business with someone else" - bad.

There is no such thing as "not intended to be a single shot" or "confiscating SSE guns." The law is clear on the requirements. The requirements are met and until the law is changed, this is legal. If the legislators didn't want SSE, they could've left it out. After all, it's an explicit exclusion. I'm sure that clown Yee will try to limit it at some point, but until then you are good to go.

Just checked the web site for Bay Area Gun Vault. What a bunch of hypocrites. They sell "CA-legal AR-s" which use a bullet button, yet complain about the SSE.

Guess the money to be lost on not selling AR-s is too much to stick to their principles of reading the mind and conforming to the wishes of the legislators...

This is really unfortunate. Hopefully someone from CA-FFL or CGF can reach out to them. I seem to remember that they were the beneficiary of some efforts on the part of CGF when they first opened.

+ 100 on EBR and the SSE route. Just picked up my beautiful black Desert Eagle in 50AE from Michael at EBR and it was one of the fastest and smoothest gun transactions I've ever had!

As other's have said, the DE44CA has added internals to make the roster. I was going to go that route, then buy a 50AE barrel, but it was MUCH cheaper to simply SSE the 50AE and now I have the exact gun I wanted!

Of course, I ended up getting a 44 barrel anyway to fill the space in the DE hard case!

I thought it was 8 rounds of 44 Mag vs. 7 rounds of 50AE...

At least that's what my DE 44 and 50 mags hold...

Good luck getting 10 rounds in the stock 8 round .44mag magazine. And if you're only getting 6 rounds in the .50ae magazine, you're doing something wrong.
