LA County Sheriff has stopped issuing CCWs

On April 2, 2024 I received a text telling me to call a number "to schedule your LASD CCW license pickup". I promptly called and the deputy that answered gave me an 11:50 am, April 24, 2024 appointment to pick up my CCW. On April 18 I received a call from an unknown number and the female deputy advised me that they have had a "computer glitch" and they had to cancel my April 24 CCW pickup. I asked whether I could reschedule and she said no and that they would call me to reschedule. I asked if she knew how long that would be and she answered that she had no idea.

Has anyone else experienced anything similar?

Does this sound legitimate?

Is this yet another stalling tactic to delay the issuance of CCWs?

You might want to reach out to Michel; & Associates - Counselor Moros is involved in the CRPA suit(s). This so-called "computer glitch" is a manufactured issue - other agencies with far fewer resources process a volume of CCW's in a timely manner.

In Fresno they notify you the permit is ready for pick up and you go down there at your own convenience.

prove why the applicant is disqualified, within 30 days. If no action is taken, the permit is valid for 5 years. Any United States citizen shall be able to apply in the same manner, and receive the same permit.

Feel free to add to this, but I think it would work.

police calling from a police phone will usually say "Police Dept" and not unknown caller. Can't you call the police to find out what's true?

I was in the neighborhood last Wednesday and dropped by the Sherman Block building in Monterrey Park where I was supposed to pick it up. Deputy at the gate asked why I was here. I said CCW pick up. He said there were none scheduled. I told him my story and said I just wanted to drop by and see if there truly was a computer glitch or if I had been scammed. He said that they were upgrading their computer system and that there were some problems and not to worry as they would be calling to reschedule my pickup once they got it all worked out. He didn't know when that would be.

After I completed my training and got my course certificate I was told by the instructor that I should get my call to pick up my CCW 2 to 3 months after submitting my course certificate. I got the call 3 and 1/2 months later and now the cancellation. I began this process by filing in April 2022.

All Democrat-controlled states have demonstrated, beyond the shadow of a doubt, that they have no capacity, no intention, no desire, and no hope of ever implementing licensing regimes in good-faith.

The time has long ago passed to strip this power altogether and require jurisdictions to prove when individuals may not??? possess firearms, rather than mandating citizens first undergo onerous processes to enable the exercise of Second Amendment rights.

UPDATE

Last Saturday I got a call from a PRIVATE NUMBER and it was a deputy calling to reschedule my CCW pickup for this morning. I arrived before my scheduled time and I received my CCW a short time later. Judging from the number of people waiting in the lobby it looks like they are back on track issuing CCWs!
