    Robinson Armament Supports Mitt Romney...

...who wants to ban the very products that the company sells.

The message of support, as found on their official website:

Happy New Year!!! Support Mitt Romney

Happy New Year 2008!!! Support Mitt Romney!!!

As a manufacturer of firearms, we have received countless calls from our customers who are buying because they’re afraid a Democrat will be in the White House a year from now. Based on the 1994 “Assault Weapon Ban”, I completely understand their fears.

In speaking with you and listening to the media, it has been a given that a Democrat (and most probably Hillary Clinton) will win this coming November. I want you all to know that this is not a foregone conclusion.

There are lots of great Republican candidates running for President. I can say great things about each and every one of them. Ron Paul and Fred Thompson are definitely conservative. Mike Huckabee is religious and down to earth. However, there is one candidate who is everything one could want in a candidate and more.

Mitt Romney is probably the most qualified candidate to run for President in decades. He is intelligent, a great organizer, and has the ability to accomplish the impossible. He has proved this time and time again in business, government, and with the 2002 Olympics.

America faces challenges on every side: the War Against Freedom (Some call it the “War against Terror”. This is inaccurate), energy, immigration, and firearm ownership to name a few. We need a leader who can unite Americans and get the right result.

Not only is Mitt the best Republican candidate, he is the most electable in November. There are many moderate Democrats who will vote for him because he’s simply the best leader for America.

Mitt Romney is a strong supported of the Second Amendment. I’ve worked on his campaign and find him to be exactly what he purports to be – a true American with the same values you and I hold dear. He’s running because he knows he can make a big difference. I’ve ask him to put his views on the Second Amendment in writing. They’re attached here. I haven’t seen a stronger written statement from any of the candidates.

Let’s stop worrying and start supporting the man who can and will make a difference. The sooner we all support Romney, the easier it will be to get him into the White House and the more secure our nation will be. If you have any questions or concerns, please contact me. (Oh, and keep buying our products so I can continue to help campaign.)

    Sincerely,

    Alex J. Robinson

His username, Kolob, has its origin in Mormon mythology. Mitt Romney is a Mormon. Draw whatever conclusions you will from this.

Personally, I think it's naive to support a candidate because they share your religion and you perceive that their 'values' are somehow aligned with yours when that candidate wants to take away our right to own certain firearms and take away your ability to sell them to the public. I'm not saying that's what happened in this case, but I do not feel that it is right for someone in the firearms industry to support a candidate that is against 'assault weapons', especially when they sell them!

    Romney on 'assault weapons' :

“Deadly assault weapons have no place in Massachusetts,” Romney said, at a bill signing ceremony on July 1 with legislators, sportsmen’s groups and gun safety advocates. “These guns are not made for recreation or self-defense. They are instruments of destruction with the sole purpose of hunting down and killing people.”
Editor's Note, July 25, 2012: This 2004 press release has gotten frequent hits over the years. We noted that some of the characters, mostly quotation marks, were failing to display properly so we...

    On Gun Control
Mitt Romney supports the strict enforcement of gun laws. He is a supporter of the federal assault weapons ban. Mitt also believes in the rights of those who hunt to responsibly own and use firearms.

EDIT: My intent is not to defame Mr. Robinson or attack his company in any way. I am simply pointing out a position that I perceive as paradoxical in the hopes that it is a mistake.

        But he's a hunter! OMGWTFBBQROFLMAO!!!

Oh wait, he isn't. And even if he was, the Second Amendment isn't about hunting.

I would venture to guess that Alex is mormon too, not that it matters and his business is based in Salt Lake City. Kind of a no brainer. Personally there is not a conservative canidate in the race that has a snow balls chance. The next 4-8 years is going to SUCK no matter who gets in there.

It would be wise for XCRM not to comment. I also don't think it would be fair to ask her opinion on it.
Look at the tyranny of party -- at what is called party allegiance, party loyalty -- a snare invented by designing men for selfish purposes -- and which turns voters into chattles, slaves, rabbits, and all the while their masters, and they themselves are shouting rubbish about liberty, independence, freedom of opinion, freedom of speech, honestly unconscious of the fantastic contradiction... You guys are right. No freedom of speech for any of us and heaven forbid you may have a different opinion then your boss. I would think my boss was a jackass if I were in her shoes. And when it comes to asking questions, well nobody has to answer anything if they don't want to.

So by being employed at Robinson she must agree with her boss's political opinions. If you guys agree with everything your boss does, well good for you or more likely- sheep. If you get fired or not should be based on your job performance, not your political view that you voice outside of work. I have disagreed with my boss on several topics, some work related some not. Needlessly to say he didn't fire me. Why??? Because I do my job to his expectations and as adults we recognize everybody is entitled to their own opinions.

You are entitled to your own opinion, and if you wish to express your own opinion while working for company X it would be best for your future employment there to decide not to express your political views in a public forum about that place. You have a contract with them, and your representing them, whether you like it or not.

Best to just say you think the company opinions about X sucks, and not mention you work there. That way your not misrepresenting the companies interests. Thats the sticky point.

You can have it both ways, but certain roads are personally expensive and not really ethical.

5968 you do disagree with me and thats fine This really isn't my fight, I was only making a suggestion because we like XCRM here and I would prefer no harm come her way for her own opinions about where she works. (Which if I'm not mistaken she likes it there.) This is a popular place, and we have no idea where our influences end or how far they reach.

I'm done, Ive over stepped my boundaries on her behalf and thats wrong in and of itself. So I'm going to shut up now.
