Moving AK to CA, bringing some guns later

Say I move from my state of Alaska, and leave my handgun in Alaska along with several other things I plan on collecting later. Is it legal to go back to AK, collect my handgun, and bring it back to California? Would the "New Resident Handgun Ownership Report" then apply, despite being beyond 60 days of me having moved to California?

Edit: Great post, by the way. Almost all of my questions have been easily answered through the awesome information collected, posted, and kept up to date on this site. It is very much appreciated.

The Handgun Roster does not apply to handguns moved here; handguns must be registered by mail within 60 days of the date when the gun is moved into the state. You, the individual, may bring those guns here at any time, even years after you have become a California resident.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
