DROSS Papers After Successful 8103 Appeal

Hello all, it's been a long, long time since I've posted here due to a lot of BS going on in my life. I have recently successfully appealed an 8103 prohibition due to a 5150 several years ago and I am wondering how to properly address the DROSS paperwork and get my ducks in a line to do a PPT once the paperwork clears with the state, to get some firearms back and also down the road if/when I decide to purchase again. I have heard that I may need additional documentation to send in with the paperwork?

EDIT: Part of the reason that I pushed to get this appeal done has been to re-enlist in the Army. If this works out, how would I have to address this once I am able to relocate to another state?

I'm sorry I can't help with paperwork for the future, but I think it would be a real service if you could describe the process you went through to get your prohibition lifted. We get that question fairly often, and while our advice to 'get a lawyer' is probably correct, a better look at the legal bits and pieces seems as though it would be helpful.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

I was tempted to elaborate on the situation around my 5150 (legal hurdles and such) and the appeal process in my OP. However, when everything first happened I came here to do research and was less than comforted by the general attitude toward 5150 victims (yes, I meant vicitms). I have PMd a few people here about the process over the years to share some of what I have learned, but would rather not discuss it in detail at this time, only because I still have a lot of things going on to get my life back in order (3.5 years later) and would rather not deal with getting flamed because of my 5150 before I get my questions answered. Sorry.

I will however say (for now) that if anyone does deal with this in Nor Cal, Donald Kilmer is the man to go to. I did not since I had already retained an attorney early in the process; but I did a consult with Mr. Kilmer later (I was contemplating changing council at the time), and he is one of the most straight forward, no BS and knowledgable people I have spoken with on the matter. Also, my biggest mistake was attempting to appeal within the first year. Remembering that although you may/may not be mentally unstable, at one point for even a half second, someone, somewhere thought you were; and that is enough for the state to brand you. For that reason trying to appeal within the first year is (basically) impossible and can (as in my case) only complicate things further.
