Combined Living Trust & NFA Trust possible?

Not sure if this is the best forum section for this, but here goes:

My wife & I are starting the process to set up a Living Trust and move our estate into the trust. Are there provisions that can be added to also enable it to work as an NFA trust? Obviously it would be nice if the trust could be used to purchase AOW items without needing to create a separate NFA trust. I figured I'd ask here because I suspect most family law attorneys aren't all that familiar with NFA trusts.

My understanding when I talked to a lawyer about the subject was that your firearms can be within a family trust, but it is not a substitute for a specific NFA trust.

you could use a family trust to hold your NFA items, but in most cases it would not be recommended. As Curtis mentioned, contact Oaklander about this. An NFA-specific trust will have special language to deal with the legal issues that NFA firearms entail.

Even without that language, having a separate trust for only your firearms might be a good idea. talk to a lawyer for more info about why.
