is this a legal way to carry?

i had this thought while i was headed to have a gunsmith look at my slide to install sights, which sadly he couldnt but that a different story, would it be legal to carry a pistol that is dissasembled? i mean the slide is removed from the frame and, just for being on the safeer side of this question, kept on different sides of the body.

If the frame is concealed, the gun is concealed. So carrying a frame (serialized receiver) concealed and not locked in a container is not legal to do without a license to carry said firearm.

So no, it would not be a legal way to carry.

I think you might be on to something here. Forget Unloaded Open Carry, UOC is now Unassembled Open Carry!

If its not concealed then its openly being carried. Thats the only two methods that I know of to carry a gun. And if you didnt know, open carry is illegal as of recently.

Yes I do know that it is illegal, due to the passing of A.B. 144 that took effect the start of this year, if you want i can put down the names of who sponsored the bill if you would like. thats the reason i asked about a disassembled gun.

Disassembled firearm is still a firearm, unless you 'disassemble' it with a chop saw.

See the wiki for definition of a firearm -- http://wiki.calgunsfoundation.org/De..._a_firearm/gun
ARCHIVED Calguns Foundation Wiki here: http://web.archive.org/web/201908310...itle=Main_Page

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

In that case Rifle Gear wanted me to commit an illegal act when they sold me my lower I brought my locked case after the 10 day wait and they said I did not need to lock it up (made me buy a lock) (and a lower is considered the "gun"), I did lock it up anyway to be on the safe side.

Open carry of long guns is still legal, and (i am guessing here) your lower was DROS'ed as a long gun. its only illegal to open carry handguns.

For that matter, concealed carry of long guns is still legal.
