It would fall under a "multi-burst activator" so no, it would not be kosher in CA. Our state continues to suck.

personally think it's a greyish area, but it's not worth the risk (or the money)

Most civilization is based on cowardice. It's so easy to civilize by teaching cowardice. You water down the standards which would lead to bravery. You restrain the will. You regulate the appetites. You fence in the horizons. You make a law for every movement. You deny the existence of chaos. You teach even the children to breathe slowly. You tame.

It's definitely a dark gray area, and as theorized by many of the legal eagles here on CGN it's very likely to be illegal.

My opinion is that after a strict reading of the PC it could be inferred that such a device is legal, but you'd most likely get arrested and tried for it anyway and I don't want to be a test case.

Thought this is considered a "bump firing" type stock?!

It's not really "considered" anything by law, but many feel that it meets the requirements of a "multiburst trigger activator" and would suggest that it might not be legal in CA. There are no legal cases that deal with it, so there's no legal precedent that one could use to determine whether it's legal to possess in CA or not.

Colloquially yes, this stock would help improve one's ability to bump fire a rifle from the shoulder, and it "should" (IMO) be legally considered just a stock for a rifle, but CA law is written and intended to inconvenience CA gun owners and it does that very well. It's pretty much the only thing it does.

If it were a little cheaper I'd buy one.

Even if you beat it (and spend thousands on legal fees), the prosecutor would be so enraged he'd probably come back and charge you for having a collapsible stock (after all, you push on it and it gets shorter ).

No offense, but this subject has been beaten to death and more than beaten to death.

Threads here and here and here and here... type "slidefire" in the search block and see how many threads come up.
I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!
