What no vigil in Arizona? That's where the shooting took place, so why not there???

Oh, there are candle light vigil's planned for several places in Tucson. Giffords and her husband are in town. Local TV media is gushing all over the planned events. Anti gun forces are really playing up this one year anniversary of the tragic shooting.

There's also a large gun show this weekend in Tucson, where I'll be.

At this time no - Giffords is not anti gun, as she owns a Glock. The Brady Bunch would LOVE to use Giffords as poster child for gun control. This morning (Saturday), local media is airing non stop updates on plans for candle light vigil's for tomorrow.

Weather report for out doors activity in Tucson Sunday is not good, however I'll be inside a large building purchasing ammo.

I'm not in Tucson so I would have no way to know what's going on with the events and media coverage there, but from the reporting I've see so far at the national level, I got the impression that the focus of the events in Tucson is to honor the victims and the heroes. The article on CNN I read didn't mention anything about the Brady campaign, or any anti-gun angle for that matter. I certainly don't take issue with that, and I think that's the right way to approach the one year anniversary rather than trying to politicize the issue all over again.

It looked like the Brady Campaign vigils were only held in limited locations across the country (like 10 at most with attendance pretty sparse), and there were none in Tucson. Try as they might, they just couldn't get the anti-gun message to stick with the tragedy. Their efforts on this "vigil" and the results are so pathetic, that it almost makes me feel sorry for them:

Which makes what the Brady Campaign is doing all that much more despicable. Never let a crisis go to waste, right? Way to keep it classy.

after reading fox news, cnn, and some other msm i think sucks, coverage of the tucson event with Gabby Giffords, there were no quotes from brady folks. surprising from cnn.
there was a ribbon on the speakers coat that might have been something. but if all the media coverage they got was a ribbon on some dudes coat....

I wasn't at any of the candle light vigils on Sunday - largest one being at UOA campus. I needed to buy more ammo at Pima County Fairgrounds gun show, which was very crowded, I might add.

Local media played down the anti gun messages, focusing instead on the victims and hero's and how we should all come together.

But the fact remains - IMHO, had two professionals in law enforcement done their jobs, MAYBE the January 8th, 2011 shooting wouldn't have occurred.

Pima CC Chief of Police Stella Bay, trained in evaluating individuals with disruptive traits, who failed to even meet with Loughner prior to his being banned from campus property and Pima County Sheriff Dupnik who failed to respond to threats against Giffords.

Gotta love the Brady bunch exploiting the tragedy in AZ last year.
