Devil's Punchbowl - Legal to Carry?

LOC, UOC, LUCC, UOC .22 rifle? Just curious, as I like to go hiking there and my Basset Hound has almost gotten into trouble a couple of times. My concern is that one day my yelling and throwing somethng won't be enough. Also, you never know what kind of nut is going to be there...

I've looked and looked, but it's all very confusing as IANAL and the fact that I even have to ask if I can carry for defense of myself, my family or my dog makes me want to crap in a bag and mail to to Sacramento

I happened to have this exact same questions as I also love to hike those trails there. I think the real questions is can you bring guns into the parking lot there where the exhibits are at. Where the cool owls live. Is that still LA County?

The whole thing is IN LA County, but it's a county park in the national forest, etc, blah. I feel like someone needs to make a pocket size legal translator filled with on the spot info from Gura, Michel, Davis etc...

Most of the Angeles National Forest is a Prohibited shooting area except in designated areas such as Burro Canyon, etc.

Except for certain hunting exceptions, it is a no.

          Leash your dog.
Q: Can I bring my dog to any County park?

A: Dogs are allowed at County parks and on trails as long as they are on a leash and under the full control of the owner. Dogs are not allowed at the garden facilities.

Q: Do you have any off-leash dog parks?

A: There are currently no County parks that allow dogs to be off leash. You may wish to check with the City of Los Angeles Department of Recreation and Parks, which does have several “dog parks”.

If you haven't seen it with your own eyes,
or heard it with your own ears,
don't make it up with your small mind,
or spread it with your big mouth.
