    Question on Parent-Child Handgun Transfer

    Hello All,

I'm a senior citizen and am getting ready to transfer some of my handguns to my sons. I'm aware of the current laws covering such transfers.

The guns are ones I received from my father in the late 1980's. He passed away in 2003 at 99 years old. We are/were California residents and no paperwork was filled out at that time (~1988). Am I under any obligation to report the transfers that took place ~23 +/- years ago?

The guns are as follows: three Smith revolvers, one Ruger single action (pre-transfer bar), a Webley revolver (circa 1915) and a Mauser Luger (circa 1972).

    Thank you.

No reason to do anything about registering them into your name before giving them to your sons. Your sons need to file the OpLaw form once they receive them from you though.
