    PPT Sale Question

I recently sold a rifle via PPT. Unfortunately, I neglected to obtain a copy of the transfer to show I was no longer in possession of it. The gun store where the transaction took place basically said not to worry, it can't be traced back to you in the event it's used in a future crime.

I'm not comfortable with this. It's a long drive to get a copy and they won't fax me a copy even though I provided all the information as to my identity and type on rifle.

Should I just fill out a "No Longer In Possession" form and be done with this?

Since a new DROS was run on the rifle I personally would not worry about filing the no longer in possession paperwork.
Life is like having a map with precise directions and exact stops, you find out that your directions and stops change as you progress further down your original map.

Further, the NLIP will not make any sense in the usual case - DROS, until 2014 anyway, does not collect make/model/caliber info, so there's no data to match the NLIP to.

That's on the 4473, but not sent to CA-DOJ. Nobody actually knows who owns/possesses long guns, out side of registered a/ws.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!
