Not only this, but only in California can it be made retroactive as well.

You guys are forgetting that other state have gone farther than California. In fact, in several states mere possession of a +10 or +15 round magazine is a felony. Yep, states like HI NJ and MA went retroactive on magazines as well as ownership of certain firearms.

I love the work Cal Guns does...and in the end their single greatest accomplishment will have been to re-open AR style purchases to California citizens via the Bullet Button..for a brief period of time...they stuck their foot in a closing window at the right time... and gave purchasers an opportunity to either buy their first 'weapon'...or flesh out and existing cache...that window is open today...but it will close...

It must have been back in 2000 or 2001. Dates on documents displayed are from 1998.
This certainly is not new news.... MAYBE the DOJ caught up with some people in 2004 or 2005 who didn't register their AWs in 2000... but the post is just fear mongering. No laws have changed since the .50BMG ban that could have turned someone into a felon "overnight"
