Is this FUD: new law changing the numbering of PC1203 snuck in hi-cap posession rider

Just heard this from a gun store employee (owner?) today while picking up my XD from jail. The gist of the comment was that there was a provision in the new law taking effect changing the numbering system of PC1203 that makes simple possession of a hi-cap magazine of any kind a felony, even if it was owned prior to 1/1/2000, his example: if you owned a Beretta 92F and had 15 round mags for it, they are now potentially felonies waiting to happen for simply owning them in CA and not being a LEO or other exempted person.

I call FUD, myself, but would like the legal eagles to weigh in.

    Sort of FUD.

Possession isn't a felony, but LCM's seem to be a nuisance now; meaning they can confiscate them just because.

Penal Code 1203 deals with probation.

And even that isn't so clear.

But as to the original question, no, possession of LCMs is not a felony, old numbering or new. Importing, manufacturing, selling, for 'just anybody', not FFLs or exempted classes, can be charged as a felony.
