MAJOR Update-CRPA Stepping Up-New FFL Gun Safari needs Support in Van Nuys Dec 7th

New FFL - Gun Safari needs some Support in Van Nuys Dec 7th

CRPA Stepping Up to Help: http://www.crpa.org/ front page news and email blast go to thread #18
CRPA Email Blast for Gun Safari - This went out today. Did you get it? Are you a CRPA member?

FFL Coming to Van Nuys - Public Hearing
As many of you already know we are in the process of becoming a FFL in LA city, not an easy task, hasn't been a new one in quite some time.

Legally everything lines up in terms of zoning 1000 ft from homes etc, this is just part of the process, an open forum for residents to voice their support or non support of a firearms dealer opening in the area. This obviously weights on the cities decision on whether or not we will be permitted to sell firearms, so the more support the better.

Our last hearing was cancelled and rescheduled to this date: December 7th at 7:00pm

For those of you who would like to see another FFL open up, one with our low prices applied to firearms and firearm transfers right here in the valley, we ask that you come show your support.

When: December 7th, starts at 7:00pm
Where: 6100 Woodley Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91406

I’m all for another FFL opening up in LA city but my question to ya’ll is how do you plan to deal with the bull that the city requires, like ammo tracking, when I presume it would be easier to just relocate to a neighboring city just outside the city lines.

I guess I am saying doesn’t staying within the city limits (potentially) cause unnecessary burdens upon yourselves?

I support ya’ll either way. If I was in town I would be there, I will just have to stop by the next time I am in LA. Thank you for your service as I am sure you have thought this through!

Isn't Van Nuys a different city than Los Angeles?

To me everything south of the 210/I5 split is Los Angeles until you get to the Del Mar track but I'm sure that it isn't really that way.

No. Van Nuys is part of the City of Los Angeles. (unfortunately.)

If you CAN make it you should show up. Lighting up city council meetings isn't just for locals. I've attended a number of nearby meetings that weren't in my town. it's important that we show solidarity, for every person who shows up (even non-residents) there's another 100 that agree but couldn't make it or didn't know about the meeting.

We appreciate the support guys, the more the better.

This is a neighborhood council meeting, and the only public hearing we will have. The input from the neighborhood council members which hopefully is reflective of the crowd goes to the zoning administrator, the city council has already given us their word that as long as the neighborhood council does not oppose our being in their locale that they will not oppose us since we are fully compliant, and in such a discrete out of the way location.

I am not sure we will be retailing ammo right off the bat because of the fingerprinting/paperwork requirements.

What we definitely plan on doing is selling all firearms that are legal to sell within LA city at prices that people can agree with, and plan on doing out of state transfers for 40$.

This city is ours as much as it is the politicians and the people of this city shouldn't be forced to drive out of the city they pay their tax dollars to in order to buy what it is they want to buy. As most of you know there are not as many places to purchase firearms as there once was and the number isn't growing but shrinking, most gun shops were ran out of business in this city all due to the never ending addition of regulations being placed.

They told me 6100 Woodley Ave, Van Nuys, CA 91406 in the Tillman water plant at the japanese gardens. The hearing will be held indoors not in the park, I understood there is a building with a conference room there, there should be signs outside the building if not either myself or Gino will be outside making sure no one gets lost.

We do intend on keeping our appointment only policy even though we are always in the building just to see how it works. On our application I believe we set the hours at 9am-7pm so we will not be allowed to operate outside those hours.
