    Proof of address info please.

Hi there, i hope im posting in the correct area but i wanted some info on proof of address when purchasing a firearm. I am aware that you need to produce a utility bill and bank statements. What i am wondering is if that is for the gun stores reference only or do they fax it off to another place? ATF or somewhere else.

    Thankyou for any help.

I've always used my vehicle registration as it gets renewed every year vice every 4+ years for a Drivers License/ID Card. I don't think many places will take a utility bill or other such as proof of residence.

    My 2 cents.

That's proof of residence, and it stays with the FFL.

But your address will be sent to the DOJ in the DROS info; just not copies of the doc you used to verify residence.

That's not usually an issue, since that secondary document is most frequently something issued by the State anyway.

Frozen in 2015, it is falling out of date and I can no longer edit the content. But much of it is still good!

My FFL specifically suggests utility bills as proof of residence.
