"Gun control" laugh of the day

Massachusetts should be able to decide for itself who can carry concealed handguns within its own borders. However, that may not be the case for much longer. The US House is on the verge of passing a bill to make all permits for concealed guns reciprocal between states. It would mean that a permit from Utah, a state with notably lax standards for concealed-carry permits, as well as from every other state, would be valid in Massachusetts.

oh yea, it working soooo well

When did we reach the evolutionary point that common sense was no longer a needed tool for survival, and can we go back to that point?

I've said from the beginning, I don't want the federal government ANYWHERE NEAR the right to carry isssue. If anybody can screw it up its the federal government.

Wow, Massachussets had changed. I went to grad school in Boston ~10 years ago. I remember it always being liberal, but not nearly as loony as California.
The power of propaganda and fear...I wonder why doesn't it work for pro-A2 arguments?
Why aren't people afraid of being disarmed?

I think it comes from the fear of the unknown, and projecting their emotional immaturity onto others.

"IF I got cut off it'd make me mad, if I had a gun I might shoot the person who cut me off, ergo, anyone who gets cut off with a gun will shoot."

Firearms kill and I've never handled one therefore they scare me.
I think by getting more people handling and firing them it could do a lot for us.

Perhaps partly, but it goes well beyond that. It is a societal effort to avoid the R word - - responsibility. As in "he comes from a poverty background", "his momma dressed him funny as a child" etc. etc.

I'm afraid of federal government. When you right, you are right: leave it to the feds to "eff" it up. Plus, since the entire Congress behaves like the kindergartners, you know it'll pass the House, and will get shut down in the Senate. watch it happen. Even it passes somehow, Mr. B. Husein Obama will veto it before the ink even drys on that bill. And even if it becomes the law... there is going to be a push back by the anti-gunners to restrict the local state's CCW issuing. You know California is going to pave the way with a barrage of anti-gun bills and laws.
With all odds against, I'm ready to fight for my rights.

The good news is that they are more dangerous to themselves & thier cause than they are to us.

I understand the concern. I don't trust government in general - or the California government in particular. I know, for most they should trust the federal government even less than their state government.

But it is worth remembering that it is the federal constitution which guarantees our RKBA - the state constitution has done nothing for us.

It is the federal law which means we will be able to buy GTRMs for our firearms.

Federal law already governs what firearm we can buy, how we can use those firearms, etc. Our state law is generally far more restrictive.

So when federal law is used to restore the freedoms which our states infringe I'm going to cheer. It's called progress.

So much constitutional FAIL in this editorial.

“If this bill is brought up in the Senate, John Kerry and Scott Brown — and every other right-thinking senator — should vote against it”.
I think the editor misspoke, he meant to say ‘and every other left- thinking senator’...

As someone with a home and property in MA, I can honestly say that, if anything, Taxachussetts is even less 2A friendly than CA.

"MArooned" is a great MA 2A blog worth following, if you want to stay in touch with Mass laws and 2A adventures.
