    Effectiveness of NRA Return Cards

I just got my latest NRA packet regarding the proposed UN gun restrictions. In it were 4 preprinted postcards to Feinstein, Boxer, Sherman (my rep) and the Sec'y of the UN. Just sign, affix a stamp and drop in the mail (I did).

How effective are these as opposed to calls, letters, or faxes? I would think they these would carry less weight than a communication which has a personal touch.

    Just wondering is all.

They're worth less, but not worthless.

Based on prior experience, I would say that any pro-gun communication with Feinstein is completely ineffective. That probably holds true for Boxer, too, but I don't know about the others.

They're just there as a demonstration of force to legislators. Everyone knows the UN thing is just a scare tactic.

I'm sure someone keeps a tally of those in their offices though.

I agree they are probably not that effective but I send them in anyway. They might help change a politicians stance on the issue.

If nothing else, it helps me tell Feinstein, Boxer, et al to **** off.

I look at those mailers as pretty much a solicitation for a donation, and while they are at it mind as well get me to mail in my opposition to the UN ban.

I do mail them in, and I do donate quite a bit each year to the NRA but I don't always donate when I receive those (did yesterday), but I do always send them in.

Have called, written & emailed both Boxer & Feinstein about Fast & Furious - they were both contacted by whistle-blowers in the ATF prior to Terry's death. Boxer has never resounded to anything, period, regardless of the subject. Feinstein did, she said she was grateful to hear from me & basically reduced it to a differing point of view. If I can find the response I'll directly quote from it.
