I've got an idea stuck in my head, and I want to get some perspective on the legal end.
As several Calgunners have noted, the locked case rule allows you to carry an unloaded pistol virtually anywhere; since there are few restrictions as to the nature of the case, one can use practically any case that can accept a padlock or combination lock.
Now to the question:
Is it legal to place the "locked case" into a large jacket pocket?
I have a Scott E Vest Outback Jacket; in which, one of the pockets is large enough to easily accommodate a 15inch laptop. This pocket could also hold a "locked case" if so desired.
I am unsure of the legality, since the law specifies that you can't carry the weapon concealed "on your person". However, one would assume that a gun carried in a "concealed carry hipbag" etc would also be considered "on your person" since you are in fact wearing it.
Ideas?
