Should medical card holders be concerned about the feds coming after their guns?

The feds are supposed to be cracking down on all the dispensaries shortly...

I seem to recall something about the feds claiming that having a medical marijuana card was grounds for denial when purchasing a firearm...

What is the current status on this?

    **

I should clarify, the scenario I have playing out in my head is that of DEA raids that would get them card holder lists & then handing those lists over to the ATF...

Dont have any LEO contact with both MJ and Guns. Until it is settled in court you are at risk.

Legal gun + Legal pot = a big fat very expensive federal felony. How much you got?

Using medical marijuana is against federal law , it is a controlled substance.

IF I had a MMC and was worried about it I would keep an eye on the dispensary that I went to. When the feds got their records , then cross checked them against their records ( they would need to check 4473s at least) then I would worry about buying a shovel , a leaky old boat , or contacting a good lawyer.

If the Cal DOJ shares the Handgun registry with the Feds then it is not hard to cross your name with a MJ card.

Bob Smith owns a P220, 1911, and a Ruger 22 oh and looky here, he also has an MJ card and bought an 1/8th last thursday. Lets go visit mommy and daddys house with this warrant.

I cant think of any felony evidence easier to obtain than that.

It will happen one day, mark my words.

Which is exactly why MMJ card holders should be helped keep their gun rights... After them, the blood pressure meds... Then... Then... If they take that first step all bets are off and you can count your guns gone too... Yes... You too...

I would bet that 90% of card holders are b.s the rest may be legit card holders. What I have a problem with is these dirtbags with cards that grow 100 plants in their backyard. they don't grow for their own use but only for profit. I can't drive to work with my windows down without smelling the ****. If you need it fine, you don't need 100 plants and grow it in your house at least.

Yep, potheads in California think that they can be pot farmers and make money off of it. They can, until the feds crack down on it, which I guess is happening. I think it is highly unlikely that the feds will go after prescription med users just because they go after pot users. Most of the people that use pot are not using it for legitimate medical reasons, that is most likely why the feds are cracking down. It is way to easy to get a MMC. It is easier to get a MMC then an LTC!!!! (at least in CA)

                          To the OP: yes.

Posession of MMJ + firearms at the same time is federally illegal.

Yup... They should have concerns. However, if they're illegal aliens they'll get a pass because they're just doing it for a better life.

                            Just sayin...
