Batts came to Oakland from Long Beach where he rose through the ranks to become chief. In January of this year he was a candidate for Chief of Police in San Jose but eventually withdrew from that competition. He has had vocal disputes with city leaders in Oakland over the resources he says are needed to police Oakland.

From what I understand Oaklander has spoken to chief Batts about open/ccw. Wonder what the replacement will think about ccw especially with the Libtard Mayor as boss.
