According to one captured cartel member they were buying guns directly from the US government too. If that's true, who knows how many more are floating around.

Yeah, I see no problem here...

...except for the guns wrapped in plastic. We all know that would never last because everybody who gets a new gun always takes it out of the box and runs around the house clearing rooms and pretending they're shooting at pictures on the wall or at household pets.

Well, I do... All those guns, but not enough ammo.

...said House Oversight and Government Reform Committee chairman Darrell Issa (R-Calif.), who recently tangled with Holder over a federal gun sting in which the government let weapons flow to Mexican drug cartels.

Gee, Issa is the one complaining about Holder being out of the country...what a surprise!

Looks like Holder more than paid for the trip with forfeited assets:

MIAMI -- The U.S. and Dominican Republic have signed an agreement to share millions of dollars in forfeited assets from a major Medicare fraud scheme.

Attorney General Eric Holder said Monday the two countries will share $7.5 million initially and could divide up to $30 million more in seized assets. The assets in the Dominican Republic include 20 real estate properties such as a water park, motel complexes and waterfront condominiums.
