From Lauer: "No shipments to CA today"

I just called Lauer to track down a receiver for a friend and I was told they are not shipping to CA Today because of the possibility of an updated list tomorrow. The guy then went on to say "If our name isn't on the list tomorrow, give us a call back."

It isn't hard intel, but it didn't sound too good. Just passing it on. Make what you wish of it.

I had the wife place the order while I was gone and made it very clear that I needed overnight shipping, well she forgot and by the time I found out they had already shipped. No list yet. You are going to be OK...IF anything happens tomorrow, it will likely be a notice/warning that they will be added soon...(that is IF anything happens).

Cool, now I just have to figure out why the guy I bought from overcharged my credit card by about $200. Let's see 3 receivers at 129.00 each plus 3% for using a creditcard instead of cash plus shipping from Georgia to Cali. My card company says they were billed six something ( I forget what the something is at the moment). I'm not great at math but this doesn't add up so it looks like I get to spend lunch tomorrow straightning this out.

Perhaps he got a soft-decline on the first transaction. A soft decline will mean that the amount is being held in limbo, usually for less than 72 hours for most banks (I've known a few to do 1 week), and then it will then be released back.

That guy in Georgia, the guy selling ewbanks on gunbroker. I called him and said i wanted 3 and asked for his best price on 3 of them. He was very stern about it and said they are 129 each, no discounts. I made a comment about them retailing for 49.99 and said i expect to pay a premium but wanted to know if i could get some kind of quantity discount. Well he hung up on me. Called back and i told him with some choice words what I thought of his bad attitude.

Did you ask where he heard the list may be updated from? Not that it matters, but just a thought
