Sounds like they're waiting for a sharp CGN member to move into town and show 'em how it's done! Remember, Kes managed to buy a Lear Jet from the money he's raking in from this worn out, sad, pathetic forum.

Please read signature. NOT LEGAL ADVICE.

I do not know laws of Nevada or Arizona or California. With that said - if pulled over by LE of any state - everything in locked boxes in trunk and/or out of reach.

I would transport guns unloaded - maggs unloaded in a locked box - pistols in a locked box - ammo in a separate lock ammo box.

Yes I do DOO - the lock box thang - locks do not have to be expensive to meet the legal definition of padd locked.
Ammo cans are cheap - pop rivit hasp on surplus ammo can - $2 lock - not for security - for legal reasons.

Watch out on high cap maggs you legally own in CA. I would leave legal high cap mags at home in CA and buy magg needed in NEVADA use a leave behind. Might get sticky taking legally owned CA high capp magazines in out of state.

Assuming you don't have a permit to carry concealed in NV.

You may have any handgun, LOADED, inside the vehicle and/or compartment as long as it is NOT CONCEALED on your body.

Meaning: You can have your loaded handgun on your chair, dashboard, glove box, whatever... just don't keep it on your body where it can be concealed.

Open carry is legal in NV too (minus the usual restrictions like courthouses, airports, etc.), btw.

My one encounter with the NHP had me briefly tell the officer that I was legally carrying concealed on my person and the location of my gun. His response was, "I don't want to see it, I don't want to touch it, I don't want you to touch it, and I'll be right back with your driver's license." Frankly, he didn't care about my gun and let me go with a warning.

The forum for choice in NV is nevadashooters.com See you in there!

There is no good gun forum in Nevada. Vegasshooters is pretty much dormant.
Nevadashooters is active but it's pretty much a small group of guys chasing each other's behind with lips puckered. Even the admins think a DUI should lifetime ban gun ownership and the forum members pretty much supported the recent bill to ban using cell phones while driving.

Unfortunately, freedom loving doesn't describe most of the folks in NV.

People don't like to be meddled with. We tell them what to do, what to think, don't run, don't walk. We're in their homes and in their heads and we haven't the right. We're meddlesome.

                What he said.

Also, LVMPD considers a loaded handgun in an unlocked portable container (bag, case, purse, murse, backpack, etc) to be concealed upon the person. So, don't place your loaded handgun in a portable container unless you have a valid carry permit.

Also, if you reside in Clark County for more than 60 days, you must register any handgun(s) you have with the LVMPD.

You can keep it open carry or put it in a glove compartment, long guns can have a mag but not one in the tube. I would open carry until you get a NV LTC

This. I love living in a state where you can stuff a 30 round mag in the AR of your choice, toss it in the trunk or on the back seat, and go 'bout your business.

Enjoy your freedom while you are here. Good luck on the job.

Now back to topic what are the firearm laws? Correct me if I'm wrong I may transport my firearm in NV loaded and concealed as long it's not on my physical body correct? Such as locked loaded in my lock box in my truck? Reason being I plan on stopping by some outdoor ranges on the way home. Most importantly I need some life insurance on the road to and from home. Silver state here I come, if I get this career it'll not be my life career but it'll be something to do for now. So if this does happen is there a NVguns.net?
Correct me if I'm wrong, but isn't it Souther Desert Correctional Center that is located in Indian Springs?

Sounds like very good advice to me! While it is completely legal to bring previously owned pre-California ban hi-caps back into California, my guess is that of all the possible ways to get into trouble with 10+ mags driving them over the boarder is probably the most likely to end up in an arrest.

If I decided to move to NV permanently, I would document California possession of my hi-caps somehow before moving them to NV.

While the prosecution has to prove that you indeed came by them illegally, having evidence that proves your innocence never hurts!

That bad, huh? I haven't apent much time there. I joined when I was going to get my NV LTC, but since NV now recognizes AZ I put that off, and haven't been there in a while. Didn't seem that bad though. There's plenty of FUD on virtually every gun forum. You learn to separate the wheat from the chaff after a while.
