Depends on the County I suppose. I was busted for Concealed & Loaded back in 04 in Brawley, CA. Ended up in the County Jail (Imperial) and was released on my own recognizance. Went to court on my report date and the DA had not filed charges. Court Clerk said they had a year to do so - 11 months later I got the summons. Plead no contest and rec'd 3 years summary probation, $275 fine and the poor P95 was ordered destroyed (Suuuuuure it was). I was concerned that it would affect my right to own sinc eit was a gun-related charge but it did not. No Jail time other than the one night thankfully.

Technically, it can be up to one year in jail + a $$$$ fine.

Commonly, it will be one day in jail + $$$$ fine + 3-10 year probation (depends on the judge), during which you can not legally own/possess a firearm.
