    intra family transfer

A buddy of mine might be gifted a long rifle from his father. Is there a way around the whole DROS, like the handgun intrafamily transfer? or does he have to do the DROS scenario?
    thanks

then, in that case, in order to comply with federal law, he wil need to use an FFL to process the transfer. there is no intrafamily exemption to federal law.

Do you want an AOW or C&R SBS/SBR in CA?

then, in that case, he could do a paperless intra-family transfer with his father. All he would have to do is say, "Thanks Pop!"
