I don't know that there is a list of what is ilegal but this is the list of what can be bought in CA

Q: What was the most positive result of the "Cash for Clunkers" program?
A: It took 95% of the Obama bumper stickers off the road.

      Try here
Think the inverse, not what is banned but what is approved for sale.
      Short answer, yes it is

I am not a lawyer but I believe this is legal because it's single action.
I don't believe it would be legal in Los Angeles though because it's subcompact, but I could be wrong about that as I am not sure if that only applies to semi autos.

These little NAA revolvers are *legal to possess* in CA.

They are also legal to purchase since they are actually "on the Roster."

          .............Make/Model..........Type....Barrel.....Caliber...Expiration
          NAA-22MS / Stainless Steel Revolver 1.125" .22 Magnum 1/24/2012

Boxbro brings up the LA issue - I indeed believe it is not sellable at an LA or Oakland FFLs. Possession of such small
'pocket rocket' guns, however, is legal even there (plenty of people have Glock 26s, for example, in LA. They just buy 'em
          in Orange County, for example.

[However, a correction to prior post: if this gun were not Rostered, it would NOT be an exempt single-action revolver,
since this little gun would be under the minimum dimensionally compliant lengths per 12133PC: 3" min bbl length, and 7.5"
          min overall length.]

Almost all handguns can be legally bought, sold and possessed in California. The list of "illegal" handguns would be quite small and mainly be unregistered AWs and handguns like the Judge or a TC Contender with a .45LC/.410 barrel under 18".

I hate to threadjack...but even though I have no real practical use for one of the NAA revolvers I have always had a burning desire to own one. Just so cool.
