Buying from private party out of state.

Hi everyone. Quick question for you all. Is it legal for me to buy a (ca legal) gun from a private party in another state? If so, do they just send the gun to my ffl?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

Sure! If it is a handgun that is on the approved safe roster, they can ship to an FFL that will receive it and then you DROS it through them. Expect the FFL to charge you more than the maximum $35 ($25 for DROS + $10 for them) for an in-face PPT transfer. By me, he charges $65.

The obvious things like on approved roster handgun and non-AW rifle, right? duh.

    FYI - CA approved roster = http://certguns.doj.ca.gov/

Always check-in with your FFL first.

            Very good advice.

Some FFLs will not accept shipments from private parties.
