Not legal to ship airgun to Ca?

    I was looking at this,

Not to bad a price. Then I see that it can not be shipped to Ca.!
What is up with that? I have seen what looks like the same air rifle for sale in my local Big 5. So any one know what is stopping it from being shipped here?
    Thanks!

I'm not aware of any current regulations that prevent the shipment of air rifles to CA. I've purchased air rifles via mail in the past with no issues. Cabelas, Midway and others carry air rifles and are generally CA friendly. You could also try "Straight Shooters" - an exclusive air rifle place I've ordered from in the past with no issues.

First of all, why do people insist on trying to shop at SG or CTD? These companies both pull the same crap and all the small sheeple vendors just follow blindly behind them. DO NOT GIVE SG or CTD a dime!

If they just published that their policy is not to ship certain items here, I could, and would, respect that. It is their right to sell what they want to whomever they want to. But, when they publish something stating that items can not be shipped here, it only helps the anti movement. Do you really want to give them a penny to help them attack your 2A rights?

"What's up with that" is it's Sportsman's Guide. As incompetent, schlock an outfit as you're ever going to find in this hobby. Bait-and-switch ads; prices you'll never see when you checkout; lousy customer service, probably based someplace where they can't speak English and just send boilerplate form-letter answers. Been there. Gave up.

        Shop someplace else.

For that matter, don't buy ANYthing from SG, not even stuff they're willing to ship. There should be financial penalties for businesses being incompetent.

          I can't argue with that.
I was just wondering on what law this limit was based. I went so far as to call the 800 number and ask. I know that cost them some money, not much but some. The person on the phone danced around with some line about Gov Arney making them do it that way. I then said well I see them for sale here and she was ah well can I help you with something else? No real reason given just change the subject.

            I second that.
I've had TSG pull blatant bait and switch scams on me. The second-and last-time that I ever tried to make a purchase there was for surplus military boots that were advertised at $50 a pair. I put in my order, and two or three weeks still hadn't heard anything other than the automated, "order placed" email.

I finally called their "customer service" and was told that the item would be shipping "In a few days". Fast forward another week and still no word. I call back and the reply is "they are in pretty high demand, but we should have them to you in about a week".

Another week goes by, I call again, this time to find out that they are "no longer available, so your order was cancelled". I go online to their site to find what appears to be the exact item (same description, same picture) noted as "in stock", but now for $89.

I guess that they found out that there was a demand, so they cancelled orders (without informing the customers) and replaced the listing with a higher price.

They also do not ship cap guns. I tried to order a plastic cap gun shaped like a side by side and they wouldn't ship it to CA yet they'll send Tannerite!

Every Californian should boycott this company. Their shipping policies have no legal basis and unfortunately are copied by other small companies that don't know better. They have capitulated to the antis in several states and are no friend to the gun rights movement

Maybe Calguns members should flood the 800 number with questions of why they refuse to sell legal products in California. Then end the call with "I refuse to do business with your company because of that." If enough people tell them they are boycotting and why, maybe they'll finally get the message that their stupid policies carry a financial price that lowers their bottom line.

Whenever I get one of their catalogs in the mail, I write "refused" on it and drop it back in the mail to return it to them on their dime.
