I don't care where he lives the guy flys all over the world saving peoples life in these comics and saving the planet and the universe so we could in that comic world still act ****ty to our fellow man like we do in real life. Maybe the guy is tired of the CIA getting all pissed off when he saves people in Cuba or maybe he's working with the CIA to kill comic Kadafi.
I think the point he's making is relevant, how can he take responsibility for what this country is doing in light of what he stands for which has nothing to do with government funded sub prime mortgage ripoffs.
then again it's just a comic and if superman isnt someone to be aspirational towards there is nothing left for the human race to do here.Comment

I'm not mad at Superman. I'm disappointed in the current writers. Far as I'm concerned, Chris Reeve defined modern Superman for me in the first movie:
Lois Lane: "Why are you here?"
Superman: "I'm here to fight for truth, justice, and the American way."
LL: "You're kiddin'!"
S, slightly sharply: "Lois...I never lie."
And again after he defeated General Zod and his cronies, when at the end of Superman II he carried the top of either the White House or the Capitol Dome and re-set it where it belonged, after Zod removed it:
S: "Good morning, Mr. President! Sorry I've been away so long." (looks a little ashamed, gets very serious) "I won't let you down again."
*THAT*, friends, is Superman. Because, see, the American Way isn't just the American Way. The American Way is the way of freedom for all who want it. The feudal Japanese society embraced it (look at 'em now--economic powerhouse). Germany embraced it for a while (the best manufacturers in Europe and still nothing to sneeze at today).
This is a sad day for what was truly an American icon."San Francisco Liberal With A Gun"
F***ing with people's heads, one gun show at a time. Hallelujah!

To be a true Liberal, you must be 100% pro-Second Amendment. Anything less is inconsistent with liberalism.Comment

Not sure why this is in the 2nd A forum....?Originally posted by Southwest ChuckI am humbled at the efforts of so many Patriots on this and other forums, CGN, CGF, SAF, NRA, CRPF, MDS etc. etc. I am lucky to be living in an era of a new awakening of the American Spirit; One that embraces it's Constitutional History, and it's Founding Fathers vision, especially in an age of such uncertainty that we are now in.Originally posted by tobyGo cheap you will always have cheap and if you sell, it will sell for even cheaper. Could he get in trouble by bending the barrel of a gun?Never initiate force against another. That should be the underlying principle of your life. But should someone do violence to you, retaliate without hesitation, without reservation, without quarter, until you are sure that he will never wish to harm - or never be capable of harming - you or yours again.

That was more or less the original idea. I thought it illustrated some of the silliness surrounding the concept of a "prohibited person". Also, I don't frequent the OT forum and the search function didn't turn up anything.Politicians and criminals are moral twins separated only by legal fiction.Comment
