California handgun law - private purchase out of state

A friend who's a resident of Utah offered to sell me his Kimber 45ACP. If I buy it from him in Utah (which I think is perfectly legal there), and I bring it back to California (by car), what does the state require for me to be legal? After checking the NRA and Cal DOJ websites, as far as I can tell I just have to register the firearm and send $19 to the DOJ.

Your guidance is greatly appreciated, thanks in advance! btw, the 45 mags are 8 round, 22 conversion mags are 10 round, so I'm okay there.

A valid question, and it was recently discussed, if you have further questions feel free to post them in the other thread.
