Let's keep in mind that Dr. Garen Wintemute is a bought and paid for tool of the Joyce Foundation.

In 2009 he received a $175K grant from them:

For core support of the Violence Prevention Research Program's work on research and policy development focused on firearm violence and its prevention.
Of course, the Violence Prevention Research Program isn't necessarily interested in violence, just guns.

Oh, wait! Look at this! Garen Wintemute was one of the guys that went after the "Ring of Fire" companies in the early '90s (Raven, Jennings, Lorcin, Davis, etc.). His work gave us the "Safe Handgun Roster" in California. Funny - they were specifically going after guns made by Phoenix Arms (previously Raven Arms). I count 6 on the roster. Apparently they weren't as "unsafe" as the good Doctor had insisted.

In some ways, though, Dr. Wintemute has helped us. His overreaching got us the Protection of Lawful Commerce in Arms Act. It also managed to piss off a member of the family who was manufacturing those guns. It motivated him to stand up to the Antis who were bent on destroying his family. He went to law school and now he's one of the Calguns Foundations lawyers. We know him as Jason Davis.

Okay I am reading some of these studies and they provide a good deal of insight into the overall strategies and intentions of those who would deny us our rights. Some of the methods they use to come to conclusions strain credulity...
Are there any links to studys debunking these studys and their methods? This must be what the brady are always whining about when they say the NRA wont let the Feds do similar "research"

For example, if the dealer that is called tells the woman (reading from a script) that she can buy the gun and then do a PPT to her boyfriend (with in the law, and with all the waits and background check that go with it), that is a "qualified yes" indicating the dealer would engage in straw sales...

Their using telephone interviews and basing whoever answers the phone's answer to determine weather that FFL participates in straw sales. Thats like saying if someone calls my cell phone and asks me for weed, if I advise them to get their "green card" from a doctor, I am drug dealer...
