I've carried a pistol on the bike before... unloaded in a locked hard case in my saddlebags. I'd like to ride to the range with my rifle slung across my back in a locked soft-sided case. I expect this is legal; but how much of a s--train am I gonna bring down if I run into Johnny Law?

Rifle on a motorcycle?
I love the smell of Cosmoline in the morning... It smells like... History!Tags: None -
I used to see a member of the range ride in on his GoldWing and he had a scabbard like they sell to attach to quadsNRA Life Member

Is UOC a possibility? J/K I am interested in this as I would rather ride up to the range on my motorcycle with a rifle slung across my back. With all this "gun control" talk, I've not heard one politician say how they plan on taking guns from criminals, just law abiding Citizens.

At least he wouldn't have to worry about haters running him off the road :P
Where's the other photo of the guy with the shotgun slung over his back?

So what happens if you're riding parallel to a GFSZ at 1010 feet and a cop forces you to pull over to where you're now 990 feet away?Comment

Why go through all the drama by being mr obvious. Use some tact and do something like one of these for transporting on a bike.............I've carried a pistol on the bike before... unloaded in a locked hard case in my saddlebags. I'd like to ride to the range with my rifle slung across my back in a locked soft-sided case. I expect this is legal; but how much of a s--train am I gonna bring down if I run into Johnny Law?
Break down your rifle and put it in a smaller square bag or
USe a PVC tube (without the writing) - You can even put a bass pro sticker on it so it looks like fishing equipoment
Guitar cases are an old favorite...
These cases are an easy winner....
They will be laughing so hard at you carrying this it will never occur to them it might have a rifle...
For frequently carryihng your rifle and not having to put it on your back...Any Questions about Front Sight memberships or specific information about attending, Feel Free to send me a PM!Comment

This is the reason I bought an SU16.
The guitar cases and such are really the best idea.Comment

I've strapped a rifle case across the back seat of my Gold Wing before. Your locked soft case should be OK for legal transport purposes. I'd think about a hard case of some sort, not so much for GFSZ purposes but to protect your rifle in case it hits the ground on or off the bike.I'm retired. That's right, retired. I don't want to hear about the cop who stopped you today or how you didn't think you should get a ticket. That just makes me grumpy!Comment
