More evidence that gun control works...

Gun crime has almost doubled since Labour came to power as a culture of extreme gang violence has taken hold.

The article is from about a year ago, but it shows an increasing trend...

but but but aren't guns severely policed in England, don't they have more gun control there. how the hell is this happening. o yea people are idiots if you outlaw guns then only outlaws will own them, even the police will start carrying guns in gang infested areas.

Makes me not want to visit places like this! Do away with lawful gun ownership, and you do away with tourists. I wonder, statistically, what the correlation is? I wouldn't be surprised if there were an indirect connection, because of the rise in violence.

well to be fair when you create more laws against guns you have more laws being broken.

Let me see if I understand this....

You take away all the guns from the law abiding citizens, and crime actually goes up???

Wow, who would have thought that?

What's the credibility of the dailymail though ? I heard it's being mocked by the left as "British equivalent of Fox News".

And the picture that caption goes with is a guy holding a grenade launcher. Hilarious.

When ordinary people aren't allowed to carry firearms, you end up, apparently, with fully automatic sub machine guns in the hands of cops on routine patrol.

That photograph should be sent to anyone and everyone who says that we should follow the British example.

                      And this is progress?

I'd rather walk down the streets of Phoenix AZ with a sign on my back saying I have $20,000 cash in my pockets, than walk around London just normal by myself. At least in AZ I'd have at least a 380ACP in my pocket.

When the police have to resort to patrols with sub-machine guns, you can no longer pretend there isn't a policy problem. They aren't talking about their equivalent of SWAT here.

Wow, fascinating article. Thanks for posting it.

I remember 1999 very clearly - it was a very bad year, what with Gray Davis and the AW ban and what had just happened in the UK. I remember the NRA did a film about it, and made all the predictions that of course have come true. It's hilarious that now even their biased media (which no doubt pushed for civilian disarmament in 1997, etc) can't ignore the obvious!

And, it will only get worse with time. But you know what? Tons of Brits in the (loosely-defined) "Freedom Movement" are against civilian firearms ownership! I know, I have chatted with many of them. Unreal.
