Would this be a legal grip mod for a sten Mk III

This is a question on making a Sten Mk III featureless. Would it be legal to use the thumbhole in the metal stock as a hole to jam a bolt and nut through to mount a chunk of wood to act as a rifle like grip?

In this situation this firearm is 922r compliant, has a 16 inch barrel, semi-auto bolt and reduced diameter receiver, and is 30" oal.

As long as it doesn't fit the def of PG, I don't see why not.
