Jacob, After reading your posts about Appleseed for the past few months, I pledge to take my son to the Jan Appleseed event in Castro Valley (NorCal) and go until we both receive a rifleman patch. We all owe it to the founding fathers, to ourselves, and the nation to get back to our roots and purge the filth that has infected our once great nation. Tech-Sights and slings were ordered today -g

Maybe somewhat unrelated, but I've read about the appleseed events but I wonder, as someone who went through the US Army Infantry School, regularly qualified as Expert with the M16A2 and earned the Expert Infantry Badge, do I have anything to gain by going to an appleseed event?

Why bother learning to shoot better if you still think voting in this nation, that was once called The United States, carries any weight.

I pledge to do all of the above however, so that I may better be prepared to water the tree of liberty with the blood of the men and women who have the audacity to call themselves Americans while they see the Constitution as nothing more than an obstacle to their ends.

As someone who hasn't gone to an Appleseed event but knows a little about them I'd say yes, even if not in the department of only shooting skill. And if not you may be able to help others to learn to shoot even half as good as you do.

              Short answer is Yes

Longer answer is: This is 3 position, slinged, rack grade rifle, surplus ammo Riflemen training with American Heritage showing you why. You can shoot a 1 or 2 day Appleseed. But there is a quick way to determine if you would benefit from the Appleseed.

Print the attachment, go to a range, place the target out 25 yards and from a prone position (or whatever you are comfortable with) fire 10 rounds at the black in 30 seconds. If you can do this, then you are a Riflemen and dont need the Appleseed, if you can't come join.
On a side note if you can do it, come anyways and learn some of your Heritage and get some quality shooting time in and bring a friend. Oh active military and reservist shoot for free

So consider something different. The Appleseed program is built around re-awakening the American Riflemen in you and me, it is also built around the idea that what you learn and perfect you can teach to others. All this has a purpose, a simple game of numbers.

Let's see, if we start with a hundred riflemen, and everyone would recruit one
person a month for 12 months, here's how the numbers pan out.

In one month, we double to 200 riflemen.

In two months, we double again to 400.

                Month 3, we're up to 800.

                Month 4, up to 1600.

                Month 5, it's 3200 riflemen.

Month 6, , the half-way point, sees us at 6400.

The seventh month, and we're at 12,800.

                The eighth month, 25,600.

                Month 9, we hit 51,200.

Month 10, up to 102,400. ("Hey, Fred - that's those 'hundred thousand
riflemen' you say can save the country, if we can ever find 'em!")

                Month 11, we're now up to 204,800.

And month 12, not too far shy of half-a-million, at 409,600.

                Not bad for a year.

But people have to pull their weight.

Have to recruit one person a month.

                To save the country?

Doesn't seem like much effort to put out for a noble cause like that, now, does it?

Of course, we can let the doubling process roll for another month and
hit 819,200. Heck, let's let it run an extra week after that, so we hit a cool ONE MILLION...

One million riflemen is a lot of people. Enough to swing the
balance of power in national elections.

I plan to go to Appleseed shoots until I get rifleman, and then bring others.

A Rifleman knows that persistence is critical in all endeavors, especially when it comes to waking up their fellow countrymen.

Only one of two things can happen, You shoot a rifleman score first try, or you don't.

Come on down and shoot. The idea is that you can potentially go from never shot a rifle to a riflemen in a weekend. They will show you the basics and drill you till you are awesome!
