    Selling a shotgun

If someone is selling a shotgun, does he/she have to provide the "firearms safety device"? Or is the buyer responsible for that?

Do you just walk in to a gun shop, state your intent to do a PPT, and receive the buyers' cash? Then leave the gun at the gun shop?

Generally, shops don't like it when customers start counting cash out on their counter...so it's up to the parties when the cash changes hands...before or after. As to who is responsible for the lock? The buyer...or the seller...or the shop...take your pick. Who is probably going to pay for it if the buyer doesn't have a safe? The buyer...unless you get the seller to discount $6 from the purchase price for a lock.
