Special Legal Issues With Gun Shows?

I suspect this has been discussed before but I could not find it.

The Del Mar - San Diego gun show is coming up this weekend.

That said what are the special laws and rules related to purchases at
    gun shows?

I have done a bunch of PPT purchases
where you go to a broker and do the DROS
and they hold the gun for 10 days.

I have done broker purchases where I got both the
10 day time-out and 30 day till next purchase rules in place.

Anybody got a link to some information on how it works at a show?

    thanks,
    Jerry

It works essentially the same. You see a gun that you like, pay for it, fill out the DROS information, wait 10 days, and pick it up at the store. 30 day rule still applies for hand guns.

It works exactly the same at a gun show that it does at a shop.

The ONLY real difference is that some vendors aren't set up to process the DROS in real-time at the show, so they do it later (like monday) when the show is over. This will push the 10 day wait to 11, 12, 13 or sometimes even more days. But, most of the big reputable dealers will have a computer with wireless internet set up so that they can do the DROS immediately.

Laws that forbid the carrying of arms...disarm only those who are neither inclined nor determined to commit crimes...Such laws make things worse for the assaulted and better for the assailants; they serve rather to encourage than to prevent homicides, for an unarmed man may be attacked with greater confidence than an armed man.
